Hello, Fujifilm. (Why I switched from Sony to Fuji)
It's been almost two years since I left the DSLR world and have never looked...
In January I was fortunate to spend three weeks in the San Jose. Being so close to San Francisco as well as numerous world-famous surf spots, I made it a point to get out a take photos. One one such adventure of the Pacific Highway to SF, I forgot my camera battery (oops), but was still very thankful for all of the great shots I did get throughout the trip.
Having had just about enough of winter, I decided to go on a walk downtown around by the Alberta Legislative buildings. As it was now warm enough to be out with just a light jacket, I decided to trek down the hill and over the LRT bridge. I felt that Black and White really captured the tone of what it is like for the ice to melt and have summer on its way.

First off, huge thanks to my friend Julio for inviting me out to the Richmond dyke to take some photos of the sunset. Located right across the water from the Vancouver International Airport, watching planes take off and land against this creamy sky backdrop was spectacular. Armed with the 5D Mark II, 60D, and my GoPro Hero3+ I came out with some sweet time lapse video! Although I did focus primarily on timelapse, I managed to snap a few photos as well.
(Stay tuned for the time-lapse videos to come!)
We were all pretty sad to leave Powell River; It was the most relaxing Kristin and I had done in a very long time! Thanks Sam and Robin for graciously hosting us and taking us to the beach 5 times in 4 days!!
During one of the two ferry rides back to Vancouver I decided to go up on deck and grab a few shots if the beautiful mountains as they crashed down into the Pacific Ocean. The BC Landscape never ceases to amaze me!
We had so much fun this summer as we drove across western Canada. Our first stop was Winnipeg for Kristin’s great aunt’s 100th birthday celebration! We were also very fortunate to stay at her uncle’s cottage at Lester Beach (Lake Winnipeg), Here’s some shots mostly from the Fuji X100T of the sunset. nothing beats Fuji colour!
